Hervey Bay Whale Watching Tours and Packages
There is nothing quite like coming up close and personal to one of the ocean’s most majestic animals. With our whale tours and packages based around the activities of one of the larger species, the humpback whale, we treat passengers to an experience unlike any other.
Our whale watching tours from Hervey Bay commence in mid-July and extend to early November as part of the humpback whales annual migration along the east coast of Australia.
During the season, thousands of majestic humpbacks visit the calm protected waters of the bay for their annual holiday, and allow guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with these marine mammals like nowhere else in Australia.

Swimming with Whales - Hervey Bay Dive Centre 2023
I love wildlife and an opportunity to swim with humpback whales in Hervey Bay was on top of my wish list. The day trip with Hervey Bay Dive Centre to swim with the whales was beyond all my expectations! Understanding the natural world and its unpredictability I chose to go out 4 days in a row so to ensure a good experience. I need not have worried - the "Arcadia" with small passenger numbers and a professional and friendly crew made each day memorable. When you are floating in the water looking down at a beautiful humpback as it swims upside down beneath you the squeals of delight coming out of the snorkels is the same in any language - as is the smiles as we climb back up the ladder onto the boat. The most important part of this trip for me was the respect and safety of the whales that was paramount and that the crew had so much knowledge and understanding of these beautiful creatures which they passed onto each and every passenger. I will be going back next year and sincerely recommend this experience!

Puffins of Fair Isle 2018
Fair Isle is the perfect place to see lots of puffins at close range. I stayed at the Fair Isle Bird Observatory in 2018 which unfortunately burnt down in 2019. Other accommodation would be available I am sure.
I spent 3 or 4 days just sitting up on the cliffs with these magical little birds.

This unrivalled itinerary offers photographers the widest range of opportunities to capture the very best of Shetland from dedicated otter tracking days, Gannet feeding frenzy boat charter, visiting three National Nature Reserve seabird colonies, purpose built bird hides, landscape opportunities, hands on learning and much more…

Mashatu Game Reserve 2017
Mashatu is a Game Reserve situated in the far eastern corner of Botswana. It is renown for its photographic hides. I spent five days in Mashatu over Easter 2017 and had some amazing wildlife encounters. The Elephant hide was simply amazing - we spent two incredible mornings in the hide with a non-stop flow of elephants coming into drink both days. These magnificent elephants towered above us as they splashed and drank the water as close as 3 meters away - we could hear the water splashing into their tummies as they drank. Watching the babies playing in the water and interacting with others youngsters or older elephants was truly beautiful - all from within the safety of the hide! Isak Pretorius and Janet Kleyn were our tutors with C4Images and they were both exceptional!

Northern Lights Alaska 2017
I joined the "Northern Lights Workshop" with Andy Long from First Light Tours in March 2017. Andy came recommended to me and I am extremely happy to recommend him and the tour to anyone interested in seeing the amazing Northern Lights in Alaska. Andy taught us how to photograph this amazing spectacle and also how to enjoy it as well! Our accommodation in Fairbanks was great and the little log cabin in Wiseman was just gorgeous!

Mashatu Game Reserve 2015
Mashatu is a game reserve situated at the easternmost point of Botswana, at the edge of Zimbabwe and South Africa. It is famous for its photographic hides.
We visited the elephant hide early one winter’s morning and while we waited for the elephants to arrive we were entertained by flocks of red-billed Quelea. Eventually the star attractions arrived. It amazed me how quiet they are – you cannot hear them approaching. One minute the waterhole was empty and suddenly their huge shapes appeared and we were spellbound!

Kepama Buffalo Camp 2012
Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers a unique and intimate experience in the African bush. It is ideal for discovering big game Africa in true safari tented style without compromising on comfort.
Ten luxury newly build canvas tents, each sleeping two, are set on wooden decks built on stilts over a steep-sided riverbank. Wooden walkways interconnect the rooms, which are all in the upper reaches of tall riverine trees. The river below rarely flows and antelopes are seen daily walking along the sandy riverbed. Each tented room has all the usual comforts of electricity, en-suite bathroom, safe, writing table, wardrobe, low impact climate control, mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities.
The communal areas of Buffalo Camp are on the riverbank, where gardens of succulent aloes and euphorbia are tended around the thatched bar, dining room, pool terrace and campfire. But the thick African bush is just a glance away, inhabited by animals like lion, hyena and jackal whose calls can be heard in the dead of night. Lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow at night under the trees, creating a special intimate ambience particular to Buffalo Camp.
With a maximum of 20 guests at Buffalo Camp, special attention is paid to personal service and the staff become like friends. Kapama Buffalo Camp is a truly authentic way to experience the African bush.

The House of Waine 2011
Beautiful secure small boutique Hotel in Nairobi. The House of Waine is a great place to start a safari in Kenya. The staff were fabulous, helpful and friendly. The rooms hinted at it's colonial past. I intend to return!
